Dear Coastal Families,
The 2013 Coastal Lacrosse Season is right around the corner. Practices are scheduled to begin on March 4th, weather permitting, and our opening games will be held on March 24th. The schedule for the season is posted on the “schedule” page as well as below in “upcoming events.” Coastal Lacrosse will be hosting our Annual Gladiator Dodgeball Party at Ocean City Recreation and Parks on Saturday, April 20th and the Annual High Tide Social will take place in early spring.
Coastal Lacrosse Club is looking forward to a fantastic 5th season! We are all excited to see how far the club has come and looking forward to a positive future ahead. Our registration is open and we hope to see our numbers grow as they have every year since the beginning. We will have teams at every age group for both boys and girls and are especially excited to see so many new families registering. We welcome them to the Coastal "family."
Our Board of Directors has changed this year according to our by-laws and we welcome some new members as well as some changes for previous members.
- Jeanene Gwin- President
- Brian Tinkler- Vice-President
- Kendra Sackadorf and Megan Cosman- Secretaries
- Gary Richins- Treasurer
- Kristin VanKirk- Girls Director
- John Burbage - Boys Director
We thank the new members for stepping up and as always, look to you our parents for your help and support with Coastal Lacrosse.
Our club directors worked extremely hard during the offseason to merge the two youth lacrosse leagues on the Delmarva Peninsula. Although a merger did not occur this year, we have had several ESYLA clubs agree to play games with us. We are currently working on finalizing the schedule and hope to include games against Talbot, Atlantic, Shore Kaos and Salisbury among others. Our league, the DYLA, will continue to schedule play days in which several clubs get together to play at one location and we will be hosting 3 play days at our Northern Worcester County Athletic Complex. Coaches will also work with local clubs and try to schedule mid-week practice scrimmages.
As a family-run organization, we always welcome input from the families of Coastal Lacrosse. We welcome your thoughts and ideas and would love to see all of our families involved in our board, our events and our organization. Volunteers are always welcome! A special thanks to all of you who have worked hard to make our organization be so successful.Jeanene Gwin
