Dear Coastal Lacrosse Families,
What an exciting and successful first season at Coastal Lacrosse. I would to thank the many volunteers that made our inaugural season so successful. We had numerous volunteers that worked behind the scenes and out front on game days and without you all we wouldn't have had such a good year.
Our season was a success in numerous ways. We fielded teams at every age level for both boys and girls. We enjoyed many fun and exciting social events for the kids and parents alike climaxing with the season ending party for everyone. We held a hugely successful fund raiser that allowed us to finish our season with no debt. Our boys and girls teams played in the very popular and competitive DYLA end of the year tournament. We were approved and operate as a non-profit corporation under the 501c3 guidelines of the IRS. Most important of all is the kids learned the game of lacrosse and had a lot of fun doing it.
After such a great first year, we are not resting on our laurels. We have already had our first organizational meeting for next season and have many great ideas to continue making our youth sports organization the best one on the Delmarva Peninsula. We are working on several off-season events that will include opportunities for parents and kids to socialize and opportunities for the kids to pick up their sticks and work on their skills. We learned many things in the first year of operation and will make changes and additions to the program in order to continue to make our club better.
In addition to Coastal Lacrosse getting better, our league (DYLA) is also making several new improvements including adding new teams. The DYLA has recently changed the name of the organization to the Delmarva Youth Lacrosse Association in order to clearly define the direction of growth as a league. We have added a new club to the DYLA as Kent County Youth Lacrosse will be playing games in the DYLA next year. We are working on improving scheduling and referee issues along with several other issues.
Even though we have had such a successful first year, we still want to get more people involved. I truly believe an organization such as Coastal Lacrosse will continue to grow and prosper because of the efforts of its members. We need your assistance and have many opportunities to help out; both behind the scenes on committees and out front as coaches and board members. If you have any interest contact Kristin Van Kirk or myself by phone or email and we will find something that will fit your available time and abilities. As I've said many times: this is your club - get involved and make it better!

Our Mission Statement
The Coastal Lacrosse Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to the growth of youth lacrosse on the lower shore of Maryland and Delaware. The club offers an instructional and developmental program for boys and girls of all ages. Our coaches and volunteers are committed to providing a uniform and organized program emphasizing the basic and finer skills and strategies of the sport in order to prepare the player to compete at the next level. Players of all skill levels will have the opportunity to develop their game in a positive environment that promotes teamwork, fair play, good sportsmanship and lots of fun.
